I was searching new music online last week and listening to Chris Tomlin's new CD "Hello Love" The title of this song ("God of this City") caught my eye. I heard it and was just overwhelmed as I felt it was the prayer of my heart for Highland Park. We also sang it at church this Sunday and it was amazing to be singing and praying it with other believers who were all desire to see God do amazing things in our city. It's a prayer of hope that God will do something in HP and in the hearts of those who are broken and hurting here. Sin seems to be dominating but nothing is beyond God's redemption.
"You're the God of this city, You're the King of these people, You're the Lord of this nation, You Are
For there is no one like our God, There is no one like our God
Greater things have yet to come, Great things are still to be done, In this city
Greater things are still to come, And greater things are still to be done here
You're the Lord of Creation, The Creator of all things, You're the King above all Kings,
You Are
You're the strength in our weakness, You're the love to the broken, You're the joy in the sadness, You Are
Greater things have yet to come, Great things are still to be done, In this city
Where glory shines from hearts alive, With praise for you and love for you"

buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks...
We had the opportunity to take our kids to one of the last Tiger games of the season at Comerica park. For some of them, it was their first experience at Comerica- and they loved it! However, there was very little game watching going on (but, it wasn't too exciting- we lost 0-4 :( ) Everyone seemed to have fun though. Thankfully, we were at the very top and pretty much had the section to ourselves. I think we would have drove anyone sitting near us crazy! The kids were able to move around as they pleased and it was also a great view of the city. My sister and her friend also joined us, it was fun to have her get to know my kids :)
