Misery?

So Detroit yet again won first place in something. I read this week that we are now considered the "Most miserable city" in the country. Real nice. The article goes on to define misery as "a state of great unhappiness and emotional distress". So I guess that's how we are describing Detroit now?
This new finding disturbed me. Maybe because now, I take it personally. But at the same time, it's a challenge. What can I do to change that, at least for my kids? How awesome that we are able to give them the hope that Christ brings! I am continually praying for them, and claiming Isaiah 61...praying that they will become oaks of righteousness.

I returned a few weeks ago from new staff training in Colorado...so it's official- I'm a Navigator! The next few months I will be focused on fundraising as I transition into the ministry. Please pray for me as I take this new step. Pray also that I will be able to find the balance between these two aspects of ministry (fundraising, and the ministry in Highland Park). It has been great to be a part of the team here in Detroit-and such an encouragement!
