Answered Prayer

Since day camp ended just over a month ago, I have been doing some traveling, moving and just trying to get resettled! Last week I finally "landed" and am starting to get things ready for the fall. I found myself missing the kids and HP after being gone for those few weeks :o)

This week, I was able to see evidence of God working...I know He always is, but I always enjoy seeing clear signs of it! On Monday, I stopped by to see one of our families. It's a home where the grandmother is raising her grandchildren and also adopted two more! One of her granddaughters came to overnight camp with us and opened up with me about a lot of her past abuse in her life (before living with her grandma) . I enjoyed spending time with their grandma. We talked about her family and her desire to see the children involved in church and our programs. While talking, a little toddler came in and I recognized him right away as the little boy we had prayed for last summer. He had to have brain surgery last year and his sister Quaniesha had asked for prayer for him. I remembered seeing him just before the surgery. It was so exciting to see this little guy running around. His grandma told me he had healed completely with no evidence of any mental problems (which the doctors were concerned about). On Tuesday nights, I took one of the girls from this family to youth group at Revival Tabernacle...a church just down the road that the grandmother has visited and would like to start attending.

Also, yesterday I was having lunch at the Weidman's when an unexpected visitor came to the door. It was one of my teen girls who I haven't seen since last winter! She has been going back and forth between her adopted mom and biological family (who she found a couple of years ago) Whenever she returns to the biological family, she seems to "disappear" and drops out of school. She is now back in HP with her mom and trying to get her life straightened out. Please pray for her...that she will stay here and allow God to work in her life!

We start programming back up the first week of October. :o) There is a lot to do between now and then...planning, recruiting of kids and volunteers and also some support raising. Pray that we will have another meaningful and incredible year of ministry!
